Expert Family History Resources

The field of personal history is vast and complex. Personal historians focus on family stories, but very often photos, family documents and artifacts are part of that story. And of course, personal history almost always contains an element of genealogy.

As a boutique firm, we've worked hard to develop relationships with outside experts who meet our standards. From guest bloggers to experts in their field, here's a sampling of the individuals we're proud to work with.

Margaret E. Gerety founded SprinkleTrust in 2020 to start a conversation about how we plan for death. She lost both of her parents in her twenties and saw first hand how disconnected the estate planning industry was from what really matters. SprinkleTrust hopes to open the conversation up and find ways to think, talk, and plan for death that are simpler and more connected to meaning and legacy. Margaret also helps individuals with resume writing, helping them craft powerful and authentic professional narratives that better target their dream jobs (

Prior to SprinkleTrust, Margaret worked in a number of different industries, including as an academic advisor and dean, corporate tax attorney, and squash club director. Margaret earned her law and college degrees at Harvard, where she was a varsity athlete. She grew up in her great-grandparents’ home in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania, and currently resides in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, D.C., with her husband and three kids.
